I’m having a bit of a moment.
I chopped all my hair off for summer, and with it, went just a slice of my style.
I ended up with a harsh, choppy cut, and a lost some femininity with the locks falling on the floor.
So, it’s time to overcompensate. With massive jewellery. You know, to remind myself and everyone around me that I am not, despite appearances, a boy.
I’ve hit the high street in my hunt for some over-the-top pieces to tart up my summer look, and here’s what I’ve uncovered.
Topshop
In amongst the treasure trove that is Topshop’s jewellery, I’ve found these perfectly summer-tastic Feather Disc Earrings, £20, that are as big as they are stylish. You’ll turn heads, and possibly weigh yours down with these burnished silver beauties with grey feathers, but remember to take good care of them – no water and no throwing in the bottom of your handbag!
ASOS
And, on the subject of massive earrings, I just snapped up a pair of these Statement Filigree Drop Earrings, £12, and my, they are quite the show-stopper. As in, I can barely move while wearing them…they look a lot lighter than they are!
They’re huge, they’re uber glamorous, and just beautiful with my newly tanned summer skin. Love them, pain and all.
New Look
Good ol’ New Look has your cuffs covered with this amazing Mega Blush Bangle Stack, £15. It’s a collection of skinny bracelets and chunky mirror and glitter bangles that would look just perfect on bare arms on a night out.
Dorothy Perkins
And now, for the main event. Finger bling.
I’m a massive ring fan, and I always feel fabulously feminine with a nice big bit of hand candy.
This Gold Set Stone Ring, £15, is a little bit architectural, a little retro and big time glam.
It’s going to tarnish quickly, so remember to take it off before you wash your hands, and keep it away from hand creams where possible to make the most out of it’s £15 life!
So ladies, it doesn’t matter what length your hair this summer, jewellery is always a great way to show yourself off!
